WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) announced on Monday that Kitchen Brains in Stratford is this week’s “Murphy’s Monday Manufacturer.” Kitchen Brains specializes in designing, engineering and manufacturing innovative controllers, sensors and IoT solutions for commercial kitchens. Their products can be found in major restaurants, as well as the equipment manufacturers that serve them, in over 130 countries, including KFC, McDonalds, and Hardee’s. This summer, they launched, QPM v4.1, their latest software that employs predictive data and tracks current store activities to optimize product availability and freshness for quick service restaurants. Kitchen Brains employs 125 people in their 50,000 square foot facility in Stratford and is celebrating its 50th anniversary today.

Kitchen Brains is a veteran- and family-owned and operated business. The company remains active in the community as supporters of efforts in Stratford to ensure that every child from birth to age five receives free age-appropriate books monthly.

The manufacturing industry plays a crucial role throughout Connecticut communities, creating new jobs and accelerating the state’s economic recovery. Today, Connecticut’s thousands of manufacturers account for 10% of the state’s jobs and 87% of the state’s total exports. In order to protect and grow manufacturing jobs in Connecticut, Murphy has introduced two pieces of legislation that aim to strengthen existing standards and prioritize the purchase of American-made goods, the BuyAmerican.gov Act and the American Jobs Matter Act.
